Thank You Quilters

The Thank You Quilters is an all volunteer, community service that makes quilts and afghans for recuperating soldiers at Fort Hood Texas. These quilts and afghans are an expression of gratitude for their service to our country. We also deliver quilts and afghans to their children as comfort for them while their parent(s) are recovering.
In February of 2008 a group of four friends started meeting in a private home and started Thank You Quilters. They grew quickly when they moved to Ready To Sew Bernina in Cedar Park and others heard of the need.
They are very thankful to Ronna Hammel, the store's owner, for offering the space to the group. They are also thankful to the long arm quilters who graciously donate their time. They are a valuable part of the Thank You Quilters.
If you would like to participate in making quilts for this cause. Thank You Quilters meet at Ready to Sew Bernina, the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month from 10 am to 5 PM.
We have longarm quilters volunteering their time, so we are happy to accept quilt tops with backs or just tops. We also accept quilt blocks, and have volunteers that can assemble these into quilt tops. All of these can be made at home and dropped off at Ready to Sew Bernina, or mailed to us. We also accept red, white, blue, patriotic, or army theme fabric. We greatly appreciate the longarm quilters who volunteer their time to do the quilting, as well as those who do binding.
